Backpain Treatment Choices in Chester

Backache Relief in Chester

working on a laptop can give bad posture leading to backache

Many of us will experience back pain during our lives and whilst it may clear up quite rapidly, for many people it can be painful, debilitating and persistent, and some people suffer repeated episodes and back problems can also cause leg pain or sciatica.

What causes backache?

You may remember doing something specific such as lifting a heavy weight, or bending awkwardly but for many of us backache develops gradually.  It may be a result of an uncomfortable work position especially at a computer, or repetitive strain or poor posture which has developed over time. But often it's not possible to identify the cause of back pain. Doctors call this "non-specific" back pain.

If backache and back pain is causing you problems during the day, stopping you from working, enjoying life or sleeping at night it's time to look at the different therapies and treatments that can reduce your pain and improve the quality of your life.

At our Chester clinic, the therapists and trainers  provide a range of treatments to help to alleviate your pain as well as classes which can improve your mobility and strength to reduce the likelihood of ongoing problems coming back.

Amatsu for backpain relief

An Amatsu treatment supports and encourages the natural abilities of your body, working with it and not imposing corrections onto it.  Regaining natural, healthy patterns is the aim of every Amatsu session, restoring balance and producing wholeness in your body.  Many people prefer an Amatsu treatment to chiropractic and osteopathic treatments. When a body is aligned and working easily and well, why should we have pain?

Massage for backpain relief

Massage can reduce muscle tension and tightness and provides many other health benefits including improved circulation, improved range of motion and increased endorphin levels which can help improve mood and decrease chronic pain effects. We offer: Aromatherapy Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, TuiNa (Chinese Healing) Massage which can be combined with Acupuncture,  Pregnancy Massage and Massage Treatment Programmes.  Further details of all these massages can be found on our Massage page.

Acupuncture for chronic pain management

If you feel you need chronic pain management then Acupuncture is known to promote the release of opioid peptides - the body's 'natural painkillers' - in the brain and spinal cord. It has also been shown to inhibit ascending pain pathways and to improve blood flow to the area treated.

We have therapists who specialise in all these treatments.  If you are unsure which may be suitable for you ring us on 01244 915603 for a confidential assessment.
