What is it and what should I expect?
Swedish Massage is the most common type of massage you would find at a spa. It combines various hands-on techniques to warm then break up muscle knots, called adhesions.
Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending your requirements. Some pain can be experienced but our massage therapists will always work to a level you are comfortable and happy with.
The massage therapist will lubricates the skin with massage oil and usually takes 50 to 60 minutes to massage the whole body. It is a deep and warming massage to relieve muscular aches and pains, concentrating on the body’s main support structure. It soothes and tones, leaving you feeling calm, refreshed and full of vitality and helps to relieve headaches and back pain. The result is increased energy levels and a feeling of vitality.
